Legislator Accountability

Florida now spends $6,000 per year on the education of each student. Yet we spend $25,000 for each prisoner in our jails. And now, education budgets may be cut even further. Will you accept the call and help save our schools--help save our community--help save our children?

Who Will Save Quality Education in Volusia County?

The crisis continues for our public schools. Nationwide, Florida ranks a disappointing 37th in per student funding for education. And that means there's a crisis for our entire community.

Our Volusia County School budget is being cut by approximately $20 million in 2009 - 2010. That includes federal stimulus money - which runs out in two years. Unless we do something about it, our children--and all of Volusia County--face frightening results.

It's time to take action. Tell our legislators that:
  • We demand a quality education system!
  • We want local decision-makers to be able to make local decisions--and get rid of the Tallahassee mandates.
  • We Will Not accept increased erosion of public school funding.
  • We demand support for our local schools, teachers and our community!
  • We have "Volusia Successes" in our schools, and we will not accept a budget that shortchanges our children and their futures.

It's time to take a stand. Let your voice be heard. Show your support today!
